Hi, I'm Sam Ferenchick, a freshman at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, where I'm majoring in Journalism with a minor in Business Institutions.
In the summer of 2025, I attended the Medill-Northwestern Journalism Institute, a four-week journalism residency where I directed the program's official promotional video and had a photo published in The Daily Northwestern.
I am a recent graduate of Harriton High School in Rosemont, Pennsylvania, where I led our school's broadcasting news club, HarritonTV. During my two years as News Director and President, I increased total views by 70,000. I also produced over 60 segments and packages and directed 30+ shows. During my tenure, I started livestreaming our school's choir, band, and orchestra concerts, which directly led to their invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall.
Outside of HarritonTV, I produced a feature-length documentary about the history of the high school. I was also the Chapter President of the Harriton TSA- a STEM competition club- where I was a state finalist 19 times and a national finalist seven times. I competed in events primarily focused on video and media production, winning On Demand Video three times.
I was also our student council's Technology Director, served on the Principal's Advisory Board, and piloted new educational technology as a member of the Tech Team.
Today, I'm continuing to explore the intersection of journalism, corporate media, and business at Northwestern, with hopes to someday work for a media company.
